I firmly believe in making the most of the time the Lord gives us. Having said that, technology, and namely Pinterest and Facebook really get me going on a guilt trip sometimes. I sit down to look at something and before I know it I've been there two hours. Ugh.
Well, at least I have been busy making some of the things I've pinned on Pinterest. That brings us to another source of guilt trips. Do I really need to be wasting money on these things. Anyway, enough about my neurosis. I do love crafting, bargains and trying to live a thrifty life.
I found a couple of men's shirts at a garage sale a few weeks back, and thought about the cute aprons (which I do wear most of the time when I am cooking and sometimes doing dirty work in the yard) I could make out of old men's shirts. So I bought them for 25cents each and used some old trims and came up with these. I know I could use Johnny's old ones, but he mostly likes solid colors and he then wears them to work, and they get all stained up. Anyway, the aprons have three pockets each, two from the sleeves of the shirts. I love them. The plaid one even has some tiny chips of bling on the lace on the bottom. Not to mention I still have boxes and baskets of trim laying around from some 40 years of sewing projects.
The pink one is just cute and a bit girly looking.
I have to say here, I really do not have any idea who first posted these ideas. Sorry, I will try to do better in the future to keep up with credit to those ideas I use.
The other day the two littlest grands, Baker and Sidney, were at our house and I happened to have what I needed to make this wacky snack. They both love apples.
The marshmallows, not so much, but they ate two apples between them.
Since I always have a bumper crop of denim jeans laying around, I thought a cute denim wreath to put in my sewing/guest room would be a fun project, and besides, I could try those twist flowers everyone is posting; oh, and why not a touch of burlap. I loved using the old Chic jeans that I got from a garage sale for a quarter and think they are quite old judging from the embroidered logo and style. My girls used to love Chic jeans and that was some 20 years ago.
Gotta go. I am trying yet another Pinterest idea and will post the results soon. This one really is cheap and very useful. Good for my mind set. Keep pinning ;}
By the way, we just found out yesterday that we will be great grandparents again in September to a little boy. Daddy Nick is tickled it is a boy to go with his little girl.
