EMPTYING THE ATTIC

I don't know how many of you have an attic, but I LOVE mine!    Too much!

The minute I throw away something I end up wishing I had not.  You know what I mean.  I also love all crafts.  And, crafting requires a large assortment of related supplies which can only be used for that particular craft.  So, I tend to be a bit of a pack rat.  You just never know when you will need a toilet tissue roll to fashion an adorable Santa or something equally as cute.

But, it is time to declutter and the girls and I are going to try to pull off a yard sale out here in the country.  We have no idea how well it will go, but you never know until you try.  The attic is overflowing and I have been pulling stuff downstairs for days and have many more days' worth to go.  Johnny is not too keen on having to help us get everything set up for the big sale, but he has expressed his desire for the attic to be put in shape.  Getting organized is like therapy to me.  It will be a freeing feeling after I get over the physical pain and soreness of the whole ordeal.

I have come across some special things that just must be kept no matter how useless and out of date they are.  Just can't part with the Easter bunnies Tonya and Ginger got when they were five and six years old.  They carried around and slept with those bunnies for a long, long time.  I found handmade gifts some of the grands made for us over the years; sweatshirt decorated with trees made of little hands and feet; crocheted collars I made for the girls' dresses back some 30 years ago.  Wow, that sounds so long ago!  Gotta keep that stuff for a little longer.

LOVIN THIS WARM SPRING WEATHER

The man at the Coop says my pea seeds will rot in the ground because it is just too early and the ground is still cold, but I planted them anyway.  It just feels so warm and I can hardly wait to see those little guys peeping out of the ground.   I can always replant when he proves to be right.

Saturday Johnny and I each got to eat the first asparagus spears from the garden and they were so tender and yummy.  Nothing like really fresh veggies.    Right now I just have to settle down and enjoy the early flowers and try not to sneeze my head off from the yellow pine pollen.

The bumblebee is helping to insure we will have a bumper crop of blueberries again this year.

I just love the way the fresh grass looks with the old shack in the distance.  I think we have more pictures of this old house than of our children.  I surely will be sad when it completely falls down.

The drive home.

I thought it would be great to have pretty flowers growing against the old shack.  Maybe we won't trample them down having our yard sale.
